Hey,

I hope all is good.

Ebay Video?

Recently ebay announced ZERO fees when selling for Private Sellers (UK only I am afraid). Cue a FLOOD of new sellers.

But wherever you are based, not many folks are using video in their listings so I see an opportunity to stand out from the crowd.

You can upload a 100mb max, 60 secs Video via the browser (not the app) to add to your listing.

Ebay says it can take 48 hours for approval but my latest videos have been approved (or auto-approved?) in under an hour which is great.

So did it work?

Well we had a Yamaha Clavinova that hadn't sold for 3 weeks despite getting views, so I filmed a quick video of my wife playing it and changing tones (It was pretty much just one continuous shot)

The instrument sold the very next day and when the buyer came to collect it I asked if they wanted to plug the keyboard in to test and they said 'No need I have seen the video!’

Result!

Obviously video gives way more info than photos for a musical instrument, it builds confidence that the product actually works and people can hear it.

So wherever and whatever you are selling - think how video can make it easier for the buyer to decide to buy!

I am now testing adding quick videos (only takes a minute) with some clothes we are selling .. and no I am not wearing my wife's but my own clothes of course :)

I hope this will show the fit and the functionality of the item and maybe the ebay algorithm will like it too. We'll see.

Document

Sorry if this feels like more ebay but it can be applied elsewhere.

One thing I noticed is how YouTubers are growing channels by simply DOCUMENTING their business.

In this example The Nurse Flipper simply screen shares the items she has sold on her account and is building an audience of resellers looking for tips.

Sharing and talking 'as live' means little editing is required and there is money to be made as a side hustle.

Channels that have a financial / make money angle attract advertisers who pay a high CPM meaning the Ad revenue alone can be much higher than other niches.

Plus Kat is an affiliate for listing software for resellers and she could create a course too.

The bottom line is think about what you do and how you can easily document under the hood rather than scripting time consuming content. Then attract a niche audience.

iPhone 16 Audio Mix

So I got hold of my iPhone 16 Pro and am still testing it.

I was very keen to hear the new Audio Mix tool especially the Studio feature to help with background noise when out and about without a mic.

And guess what? It works great.

You record using Spatial Audio (go into your camera settings before you shoot) then apply the filter effect in the Photo App afterwards. You can tweak the amount of filtration.
